SkyVoyager Expansion Pack

By default, SkyVoyager contains a database of 300,000 stars to 10th magnitude. You can purchase the optional SkyVoyager Expansion Pack, which adds 2.5 million stars, to 12th magnitude, from the Tycho-2 catalog. The Expansion Pack also includes more than 300 color images of the best known nebulae and galaxies from the Digitized Sky Survey. With the Expansion Pack, your sky charts will become dramatically more realistic and useful.

The SkyVoyager Expanion Pack costs US $4.99, and is available within SkyVoyager as an in-app purchase.

As shown in the last example, you can display deep sky objects as outlined objects, Digitized Sky Survey images, or both. If you don't want to display the images added by the Expansion Pack, you can turn them off, using the Deep Sky Settings view.

Requirements

The SkyVoyager Expansion Pack is an in-app purchase. To use it, you must already have installed SkyVoyager on your iPhone or iPod Touch. SkyVoyager is compatible with any iPhone or iPod Touch running iPhone OS 3.0 or higher. For best performance, we reccommend an iPhone 3GS, or a 2nd-generation or newer iPod Touch.

To purchase the Expansion Pack, you must have an iTunes Store account. Also, your iPhone or iPod Touch must be configured to allow In-App Purchases. If it is not, you will get a warning message when you try to purchase the Expansion Pack. To enable In-App Purchases, quit SkyVoyager, and launch the Settings app. In-App Purchases can be configured in the Store section of the Settings app.

You must also be connected to the internet, either by WiFi or a mobile data network.

How to Purchase

1. Launch SkyVoyager on your iPhone or iPod Touch. Tap the Settings icon in the main toolbar. Scroll to the bottom of the Settings view. Tap the "Purchase Expansion Pack" button at the bottom.

2. An alert message will appear, asking to confirm your purchase. To do so, tap its "OK" button. SkyVoyager will connect to the app store, where you can complete the purchase. This may take up to a minute or so - please be patient!

3. You will be prompted to enter your iTunes Store account name and/or password. A "success" message will appear when your purchase is completed successfully.

If your purchase is interrupted (for example, by a phone call in the middle of your purchase), or fails to complete for some other reason, quit and restart SkyVoyager. The purchasing process will continue where it left off.

You should never have to pay for the Expansion Pack more than once, even if you lose your iPhone or iPod, or upgrade to a newer device. The iTunes Store keeps a record of all purchases that you have made. If you purchase the Expansion Pack again for your new device, you will not be charged a second time.
